Are You a Young Person Interested in Aviation?
Visit our Open House / Orientation Meeting
June 12th at 6pm at Downtown Island Airport (2701 Spence Place, Knoxville, TN)
A new local, Knoxville Aviation Exploring post is being created! This is a hands-on program open to young men and women from the 6th grade to 20 years old with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of aviation.
You will develop:
Flying Knowledge • Aviation Protocols • An understanding of many Aviation Career Fields • Leadership methods • Teamwork
You will have an opportunity to participate (hands on) in:
- Flight planning • Flight simulator lessons • Tours of airports and aviation facilities • Air Show Visits • Aircraft Maintenance • Safe UAV Operations • Airline Visits and Training
You will have an opportunity to network with
Pilots • Aircraft Maintenance personnel • Air traffic controllers • Airline Personnel • Airport managers
You will learn about the educational requirements for a career in Aviation and will receive tangible advice on steps you could take now to prepare and position yourself for a successful career in the field of Aviation.
Are you a currently involved in Scouts? Some youth leadership positions in the post count toward leadership requirements for Eagle.
