Vigil Honor

Oversees the Vigil Candidate selection process. Organizes and leads the selection committee made up of Vigil honor or ineligible arrowmen and provides them with all nominations of ELIGIBLE members. Ensures there is time set aside for selection of Vigil Candidates and that decisions are finalized at LLD. After members are selected, the Vigil chief presents nominations at Winter Banquet and guides the candidates through their experience at fellowship. Traditionally the position is held by, but NOT limited to the immediate past Lodge Chief. 

• • Selects committee from Vigil Honor or Non-Vigil eligible members, with final approval of Lodge Chief

  • Reviews nominations to ensure all nominated are ELIGIBLE and prepares them for the committee’s selection.

  • Leads discussion of selection committee and helps committee members to understand the importance of the Vigil honor and the selected members are supposed to be the best the OA has to offer and exemplify brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service in their life and actions (Not a popularity contest).

  • Guides candidates through their Vigil
