Commissioners

Why are Commissioners important to your unit?

Commissioners help ensure that each unit has strong leadership and that unit leaders develop a safe, welcoming environment.

Commissioners also encourage training, promote the use of the unit committee, and encourage a relationship with the chartered organizations.

Did You Know?

Commissioners are volunteers who coach and consult adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, and Venturing crews. They help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America.

The Commissioner position is the oldest in Scouting and is the origin of the professional Scouter positions.
