Hello to all Arrowman! As the Pellissippi Lodge begins its transition back into program activities, we are looking to provide an opportunity for all Ordeal members to complete the Brotherhood Ceremony. June 25th, we are inviting eligible members to come to 800 Sanctuary Lane, in Knoxville for Brotherhood. Please arrive by 7:00 pm. We will review the letters and start the ceremony by 7:30 pm.
To be eligible, members must have been an Ordeal member for at least 6 months, a requirement all current members have completed, as well as having written a letter to your lodge officers, outlining what you think the obligation means, how you fulfill this obligation in your daily life, your plans for continued service, and what the OA means to you. You must also memorize the Order of the Arrow obligation. It can be found in your handbook, on the back of your membership card, or online at oa-bsa.org.
The cost is $20.00 which pays for the Brotherhood Sash. You must also be current with your lodge dues. If you are not current with your dues, you can pay them during the registration process. Due to restrictions, only the first 30 Ordeal members who register will be able to go through the Brotherhood Ceremony. Registration will close at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24th.
During the event, we will be adhering to social distancing guidelines and safety measures, including all members, present wearing masks when we cannot maintain social distancing. Please note that this may affect parts of the ceremony, and how we conduct it, but we highly encourage it! The Brotherhood ceremony is a fantastic way to become more active in the OA, and to increase your understanding of the principles of the OA.
We ask that all members who register bring their own mask, and hand sanitizer. If your parent is bringing you, they may wait in the parking lot or return by 8:30 pm to pick you up.
I hope that you will take advantage of this great opportunity to seal your membership in the Order of the Arrow and Pellissippi Lodge. If you have any questions, you may contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or our lodge adviser, Jeff Moser at email@example.com.
