Camping

Camping is not only one of the most exciting parts of being a Scout, it’s also one of the most important. Scouts in the Great Smoky Mountain Council have plenty of chances to spend the night (and the day!) in the outdoors — complete with campfires, sleeping bags, and all kinds of daytime adventures.

Cub Scouts go camping with their families, but as Scouts get older, they begin camping with other Scouts and with the leaders of their Troop. Scouts often go camping just for one or two nights with their Pack or Troop, but also have the opportunity to camp for almost a week during the summer at exciting Camp Buck Toms or during the winter at Camp Pellissippi.
