Summer Camp
Summer camp is the highlight of the year for many Scouts. In the Great Smoky Mountain Council, we hold our summer camp at Camp Buck Toms on the shores of a private cove on Watts Bar Lake. Scouts spend six nights camping out with their Troops. During the days, they participate in activities ranging from stand-up paddleboarding to insect study, wilderness survival to robotics, fingerprinting to fishing, and rock climbing to archery while working toward some of the more than 60 available merit badges.

WHERE: Camp Buck Toms
WHO: Any Scout BSA, Venturer, Sea Scout, or Explorer who meets the age requirement. Some activities are restricted to members 13 or older.
HOW MUCH: $370 In Council Scouts $400 Out of Council Scouts $195 Adults (1 adult free)
WHAT NEXT: Your unit leader will tell you when registration opens.
Each year, the council hosts five week-long sessions of Summer Camp at Camp Buck Toms, generally starting in early June and ending in early July. Camps begin on a Sunday and end on a Saturday. Typically, Scouts attend with their units.
