Family Info: Family Info: Married to his high school sweetheart Amy. They have two children, Grace, a Venturing Summit Award recipient, and Luke, an Eagle Scout.  Both Luke and Grace are Vigil Honor members of the Order of the Arrow.

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising, University of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee

Hobbies/Interests:  Rotary, hiking, and geocaching

Scouting Experience

Eagle Scout; attended the 87-88 World Scout Jamboree; OA Vigil Honor member and Founder’s Award recipient; Wood Badge staff; has trekked Philmont Scout Ranch and Sea Base St. Thomas; has served as a Pack Committee Chair, Pack Treasurer, Webelos den leader, Troop Committee Member, Crew Advisor and Crew Committee Member; a Sea Scout Skipper, a James E. West Fellow; and an Order of the Arrow Legacy Fellow.

David began serving as the Scout Executive / CEO of the Great Smoky Mountain Council, Boy Scouts of America on March 1, 2015. David’s 25-year career with the BSA began with the Middle Tennessee Council, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. His accomplishments there led him to be selected as the Deputy Scout Executive / COO of the Circle Ten Council in Dallas, Texas.
