Shooting Sports is at the heart of the overall Cub Scouts Program. Cub Scout age youth jump at the chance to shoot BB Guns, Archery, and Sling Shots. As adults, our privilege and our duty is to make sure they have a safe and educational experience. The Cub Scouts Rangemaster Program provides the training necessary to for an individual to serve as a Rangemaster at Council and District Cub Shooting Sports Events. (NOTE: shooting sports are NOT allowed at either Den or Pack level events!!)

Through experiential learning guided by a knowledgeable adult, Cub Scouts will learn the safe and responsible use of BB guns, slingshots, and archery equipment. The goal is for the Cub Scout to have fun in a safe environment, not to become an expert marksman, range master, or hunter.

We MUST have at least 5 to register to offer course (maximum class size is 20)

Registration closes 24 hours in advance of the class and no walk-ons are accepted

*Rangemaster certifications are good for two years.

Arrive at STEM Lodge (if at Camp Buck Toms) or at the Winter Lodge (if at Camp Pellissippi) between 8am and 8:30am

Class will start at 8:30am

Indoor Portion for BB Guns and Archery and Sling Shots: 8:30am to 12:30pm

30 minute break for lunch (must bring your own lunch)

Outdoor portion for Bb Guns and Archery and Sling Shots: 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Must bring raingear in case of inclement weather

Must give us preferred size of Rangemaster Vest to receive after course is successfully completed
